Honest as you like! I love the name cash but is it for Hollywood only?

No
Don't do it
No
No again

ZoFloMoFo · 30/11/2016 19:10

I've never heard of it and it sounds quite ridiculous.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 30/11/2016 19:11

Awful

quicklydecides · 30/11/2016 19:11

I adore Cashel,
Do you have Irish roots?

Nirvanababy · 30/11/2016 19:11

Nope

theeyeofthetigerbread · 30/11/2016 19:14

What sort of a person / family are you?

I think it could work if you're a home educating vegan who wears natural fibres and owns a bike trailer. And Cash will be the younger brother to Feather, Wind, Brave and Juniper.

Or if you're an agonisingly fashionable TV exec in a London flat with minimalist monochrome decor, and Cashel will be your only child.

If you're an accountant from the Midlands with two cats and already have a Sophie or a Joshua, not so much.

Diel · 30/11/2016 19:17

Ha! I did say honest as you like! We do have Irish roots and are just a regular family. Thanks for the replies :)

It sounds like the name of a country boy from the deep south of the USA.

Peopleplease · 30/11/2016 19:55

Quite like Cashel. Although not if you ever plan on moving to Ireland.

How about Cathal?

user1479835256 · 30/11/2016 21:16

I like Cashel, on my list originally. Well known and not an out there name for anyone with Irish connections and certainly no worse then the 50,000 Aoifes out there

rainbow99 · 30/11/2016 21:48

Haha tiger that has made me lol!
I don't find it offensive but it is very American to my ear

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 30/11/2016 21:50

Cashel works if you're Irish. Cash however is utterly awful and very Real Housewives.

alltouchedout · 30/11/2016 21:52

I know a woman named Cashel, it suits her. I don't think I'd choose it myself but it's not a daft name at all.

sycamore54321 · 01/12/2016 18:25

I don't like Cashel as a name, just a question of differing tastes, but Cash seems absolutely horrid. It smacks of vulgarity and grubbiness at the same time. It's basically calling your child Money.

babyblabber · 01/12/2016 18:32

Cashel isn't a name in Ireland though, it's a town.

So if that doesn't bother you fine but it would raise a few eyebrows here as a name.

Vixxfacee · 01/12/2016 18:34

What about Cassius with Cash for short?

Joinourclub · 01/12/2016 18:34

I like Cassius with Cass/Cash for short.

OlennasWimple · 01/12/2016 18:36

Cuchelle is a brand of toilet paper in the US. Cashel sounds very close to that....

What is it that you like about the name? Would something like Kes work instead?

KlingybunFistelvase · 01/12/2016 19:45

Cashel makes me think of blue cheese. I love blue cheese though, so that's no bad thing!

I think I kind of like it as a name too, with nn cash if you like.

KlingybunFistelvase · 01/12/2016 19:47

I knew a Rich (short for Richard) who told me how much he loved being able to say "hi, I'm rich" to people!

HermioneJeanGranger · 01/12/2016 22:15

Cassius with Cass/Cash for short?

timelytess · 01/12/2016 22:21

Kash short for Kashif.

Someone keeps phoning me and asking me if they can talk to me about Kash. No you can't. So if it's you, stop phoning.

MiniMaxi · 01/12/2016 23:27

I like Cash though it is quite American, haven't heard of Cashel (makes me think cashew!)

Cathal
Dash / Dashiell
Caelan

?

MiniMaxi · 01/12/2016 23:33

Oh or

Clay
Cassian

Not Cassius Clay though Wink

Reetabiscuiteater · 02/12/2016 09:37

I have a cousin called Kasch. Suits him and they ate not Hollywood. Not sure where his mum got it from as we are not that close. His brother has a similar name.
