Always sounds like a villain to me.

Or a silo.

Cyrus is also on our shortlist as DP is Persian. He prefers Cyrus.

I like it. I also like Jethro, which has a similar vibe.

I love Silas

When I was little my absolutely favourite book was 'Silas the owl' and I have so many happy memories of my Dad reading it to me

Silage!

I do like it but it does have an "evil" vibe to me too. I think it's the Da Vinci monk think mainly. I think I'd get over it if I met a little child with the name though. Much prefer Silas to Cyrus.

ineedbanoffee · 17/11/2016 10:03

Makes me think of Silas Marner. So I wouldn't. Not my taste either - but if it is your taste, I really don't think the Da Vinci Code (or the George Eliot!) references would matter one bit, so if you like it, go for it.

I think it's cool. I was put off it a few years ago as I thought it sounded like an evil name :) for a baby. Also Silas Marner. But I would use it now. I also very much like Cyrus and Si/Cy.
