What do you think to this name? I really like it but dh thinks it's s bit wet? Also would Lou be the only nn? I am a serial abbreviator with names!!
Also like Arthur but hate Art for a nn. So struggling with boys names :(

I have a Louis and love the name. He's really happy with his name and it's not abbreviated. I think it's such a cool name and a few of his friends from school agree and have named their sons after him Grin

Is yours a Louie or Lewis oohthatsme?
What about Henry?

DP hated Arthur. We had totally different tastes in boys names and Louis was the only one that we could remotely agree on, but it wasn't in my top 20 Confused
Thankfully girls names were easier!!

I like Albert too Smile

JosephineMaynard · 12/11/2016 23:08

Alfred and Albert sound a bit samey.

Arthur is a fab name and Art a brilliant nickname.
Louis/Lewis is quite popular - I often have a couple in a class. Think I teach 6 at the moment. (High school - teach 7 classes).
Zachary nn Zach
Jeremiah nn Jed
Edward nn Ned

Frazzledmum123 · 12/11/2016 23:22

Yeah me and dh don't agree on anything either, girls names we match better

Hmm maybe Albert is a bit samey, hadn't thought of that

Funnily enough pieceofpurple I just started thinking of Edward, I like that there are options with nn too, Ned, Ted or Eddie. I like Zach actually too but prefer Issac for the full name I think

Mine's pronounced Lou-ie. It's a really old classic name; kings and jazz musicians alike have had that name!

I much prefer the Lou-is pronunciation. The French version sounds like loo wee in English Blush
