Which spelling do you prefer?

Rosy is an adjective, not a name. Rosie is lovely.

From the spellings you gave Rosie is better.

However I prefer Rose or Rosa with Rosie as a nn. Rosie will adorable on a toddler and little girl, but it's not a very grown up name. I wouldn't like to be called Rosie as an adult.

I have a Rosie. Her full name is Rosemary.

Rosie. We know 2 (both preschoolers) who have it as their full name and I think it's lovely. Never seen Rosy as a name. I think it'd be constantly misspelled.

Tell your friend she's condemning her child to a lifetime of people misspelling her name! I worked with someone for years with that name and I could never remember if she was Rosie or Rosy and she used to get cross when people got it wrong. She had a surname which could end 'ie' or 'y' just to confuse things.

My first name can be spelled various ways too and people are always getting it wrong. I've made sure my kids have names with one spelling!

I quite like Rosy, I've seen it a few times before in older books. I'm sure Louisa May Alcott had a heroine called Rose who was sometimes called Rosy.
