I have always loved this name, it would be shortened to Minty. Thoughts?

When I was a kid I wanted a pony called Araminta, Minty for short.

It sounds very 'jolly hockey sticks' and Mallory Towers like to me but maybe that is what you want.

There is a Ruth Rendell book (can't remember which one ) the main character in it has this name and it's very creepy (the book, not the name)

It's a beautiful name. Not for everyone though but that's no bad thing! It's always on those "what would you call your daughter" daydream threads. I know one.

Minty sounds like a Sloane ranger boarding school gal with swishy blond hair, probably not the brightest spark. Works in a posh shop and lives in a central London flat paid for by Mummy and Daddy.

Goddaughter goes by Minta - her choice when she started school. Needs to go with simple middle names though
