Hello,

My DH is Lucas. We are expecting our son in January. He will be Lucas Junior. How is Junior put into the name. I assume it's a middle name? Or is it part of the 1st name? Thanks.

So you'll call him Junior on a day -to-day basis? I always think that's a bit crap, he doesn't even have a name of his own, he's just a lesser version of his dad. Junior is a non-name.

Give him his own name.

I've never, ever understood why people do this. It comes across as either deeply unimaginative or egotistical, or both. I would hate to be named as a mini version of my parent. And you don't mind because you'll have others? If I were the first and got lumped with a shit name, and that were your explanation, it would sound to me like I wasn't as important as I was the first one so didn't really matter, and you'd put more time and effort into naming the others properly.

Let your husband name a pet or something after himself. Or get a big portrait of himself painted and hung in the lounge. Anything else that might satisfy his ego without bothering anyone else.
