Edwin, thoughts?

Just wondering what people think of the name Edwin? It's a family name so and DH would like it for a middle name as a tradition, but thinks it's maybe too obscure/old fashioned to be a first name and would prefer something more common, but I really like it and think it's a great first name.

I love it, it was one of our top names on our boys list but I really dislike the nn Ed, so it got removed as it would happen at some point!
