Would this really be so bad? Thoughts please.

OP posts:

Unless your surname begins with I or D it won't be an issue. Maybe rethink if it does..

Groovee · 22/10/2016 18:42

If you added a D on there would be a Hmm.

But no they are fanny pads here.

Floggingmolly · 22/10/2016 18:46

Sanitary Towel... Are you serious? Hmm

SallyR0se · 22/10/2016 18:46

I think ST is said, or was said, where I come from. But I wouldn't make the association if I saw the initials ST written down. And there's no occasion to say your initials, really?

WelshMoth · 22/10/2016 18:55

Could OP be meaning 'Sexually Transmitted'?

It wouldn't occur to me in a band though - it really wouldn't.

Barefootcontessa84 · 23/10/2016 09:42

OP I know lots of people that call them STs, but I wouldn't make the link with name initials so I wouldn't worry.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/10/2016 09:56

I think possibly, the term STs, is very dated now.

CourtJester · 24/10/2016 12:00

I came on to find out what the problem with ST was...

Nothing sprung to mind, unless you were planning to marry your child off to someone with a last name starting with I or D and forcing them to double-barrel their names - STD or STI might not thank you! Confused

JosephineMaynard · 24/10/2016 16:10

The only associations coming to mind for me were saints and streets. I did briefly wonder if you were worried about a tenuous link with STDs or STIs.

I've never heard sanitary towels called ST before this thread.

DerelictMyBalls · 24/10/2016 17:51

Never heard them called STs. Wouldn't bat an eyelid.

PersianCatLady · 24/10/2016 17:59

Sounds like something my guide leader might have said smile
Yes that is what I said when my friends started using ST as an abbreviation for "Sexy Times".

As in "where were you last night?"
"Me and BF stayed in for ST"
