Looks like Alice it is then! I'm glad I asked here, I had never heard of the medical condition until now. Or maybe I could pick another Polish name to appease DH - what do you all think of Daria? Wink

Do you like Dannika ?

badtime · 13/10/2016 12:54

Daria is great, and reminds me of the cool, sarky 90s cartoon.

However, before she got her own show, she was a character in 'Beavis & Butthead' and they called her 'diarrhoea'.

SorenaJ · 13/10/2016 17:55

Love Alice

JasperDamerel · 13/10/2016 17:59

Daria is lovely. My autocorrect wanted to change it to 'saris' and 'Adrian', though.

LizzieMacQueen · 13/10/2016 18:01

Our Polish nanny was called Dana, I like that.

Alice, Alice, who the f* is Alice. (nice name but ruined for me by those lyrics)

joanne90 · 13/10/2016 18:05

None sorry!
Alternatives?

WaitrosePigeon · 13/10/2016 18:53

Alice is lovely!

Zhabr · 13/10/2016 18:58

What about Melania?

MrsSchadenfreude · 13/10/2016 23:32

Daria, I love, but doesn't work in English as it sounds too much like "diarrhoea."

How do you pronounce "Alys"? Just like "Alice"? I used to work with one, and she pronounced it "Ay-liss." (With stress on first syllable.)

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/10/2016 23:34

I love Alys. It's like a cooler version of Alice to me.

FeralBeryl · 13/10/2016 23:50

Love Alys - but be prepared for people to misspell it all the time Angry
Can't ever like Milena after you've smelt or been repeatedly covered in malaena.
I met a Milena once and the whole time she was talking, I was just reliving the smell. Sorry, its just that anyone remotely medical she meets will feel similarly.

ClaudiaJean2016 · 13/10/2016 23:57

I like Alys.

Pluto30 · 14/10/2016 00:03

I quite like Daria. Not something you hear everyday, but familiar to people. Also, the cartoon was great.

Otherwise, how about Marlene or Marlena? I'm thinking Marlene Dietrich. Very similar to Milena...

Pluto30 · 14/10/2016 00:03

Or even Magdalena?
