Verity?
Savannah?
faith?
Florence?
felicity?

I like Fleur and am from near Birmingham - I think I pronounce it properly - Fler!

WeArePregnant11 · 09/10/2016 23:03

Is Sue a common nn for Susanna? I know 2 women called Susanna. One is called Susie and the other Sookie (I have honestly no idea if Sookie is actually a nn for Susanna....)

Sophronia · 09/10/2016 23:11

Susanna is lovely. I like Susie as a nn.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 09/10/2016 23:16

Papergirl - I'm from near Birmingham too, and don't pronounce it anything like some of H's relatives. It's all down to your specific accent.

ShmooBooMoo · 09/10/2016 23:27

When I say Fleur I sound like Cilla Black for some reason!

If you like French names, can I suggest Sylvie or Estella (derivative of Estelle (fr) meaning 'star-like'?

bluechameleon · 09/10/2016 23:38

I love Susanna. I also like Flora. Frankie is cute as a nickname but not as a whole name - Frances would be a lovely full name to use, or Francesca.

Buntysoven · 10/10/2016 00:35

Susanna is my favourite. I know 3..one adult Susie one adult Susannah never shortened and one 8 year old Zanna shortened by her younger sis who couldnt manage the whole name.

Obsidian77 · 10/10/2016 00:41

They're pretty names except I also can't say Fleur without sounding like Cilla Black.
Manon makes me think of Manon Lescaut who was erm..disreputable but also you hear people shouting "man on" during sports matches to tell the player with the ball that they're about to be tackled. Of your list I think that's the name a child might most likely be teased about.

groovergirl · 10/10/2016 03:00

I doubt Susanna would become Sue these days. Susie or Zan are more likely. Your DD would certainly be a rarity at kindy if named Susanna among all the little Amelias and Graces.

VilootShesCute · 10/10/2016 03:24

Xanthe even better!!!

ClaudiaJean2016 · 10/10/2016 03:27

I like Flora more than Fleur. Manon is my favourite.

Optimist3 · 10/10/2016 04:19

Love fleur.

Optimist3 · 10/10/2016 04:20

Fleur Brown is great.

KoalaDownUnder · 10/10/2016 04:29

Yes Paperdoll! Fleur sound like a mix of bleugh and phlegm

I agree.

Fleur looks like it should be a pretty name, with the French/flower thing, but it just isn't.

Weetabixandtoast · 10/10/2016 04:47

Fluer, flora or Susanna x

Weetabixandtoast · 10/10/2016 04:49

I'd go with Susanna tho - suse or Susie as the nn

V pretty name and the most flexible as she grows older

Weetabixandtoast · 10/10/2016 04:51

Can I also suggest Elise

Weetabixandtoast · 10/10/2016 04:57

Or Freya

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/10/2016 07:59

Susanna (Susie).
Flora
Daisy

Loafingaround · 10/10/2016 09:39

Fleur is poncy and twee sounding to me. Too try hard.

Fleur sounds more like a noise to me, sorry

Elizalou01 · 10/10/2016 13:26

I have a recorder on my iPhone and I take people's point about Fleur. It looks lovely but sounds a bit blurgh when spoken especially with our surname.

Both Xanthe and Elodie seem to sound best. I like xanthe but don't know if people might struggle with it.
