Any opinions?

I quite like it. The only one I've ever known was about 30 years ago at primary school. We all thought it was a bit weird then. She had pet mice too though so that was unusual as well.
Now I'm a bit more grown up I like it!

swissy56 · 08/10/2016 19:15

It's funny because there was a thread a couple of years ago and everyone hated it! Will try to find link.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/10/2016 19:18

I would love to know what nicknames could be used for Autumn... I really like the name, but this would concern me...

Soubriquet · 08/10/2016 19:19

Tammy?

Shadowboy · 08/10/2016 19:20

It's my 2 year olds name. We called her Autumn Rose (surname) - lots of people comment on it (usually positively)

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 19:22

Most people I know in RL don't seem to have nn's, myself & my DC included. It seems to be a real MN thing that every name must have a nn. I think Autumn is a lovely name so why shortern it?

I'm not having a dig at anyone - honest! - it's just an observation.

Eeeek686 · 08/10/2016 19:50

Ha, absolutely footle - case in point! Grin

Wrt nn, potato you might not see the need to shorten or abbreviate but a Lot of kids do - most of my friends throughout school were known by their one syllable nn.... In some cases the parents Hated it but what could they do?! Confused

It's not a bad idea to have your own nn on the back burner - saves someone else thinking up a less favourable one at least!

BowiesJumper · 08/10/2016 19:54

Gorgeous!

srtajuanita · 08/10/2016 19:57

This is the Queen's grand-daughter in law, Autumn Phillips, née Kelly. Love her name!

Lovely name

Cathaka15 · 08/10/2016 20:12

Love it.

ChimpyChops · 08/10/2016 20:16

I absolutely love it!

CaoNiMa · 08/10/2016 20:32

I think we can safely date its popularity on MN to the arrival of Autumn Philips in the Royal Family!

WeArePregnant11 · 08/10/2016 20:51

I personally don't like it.

idontlikealdi · 08/10/2016 20:56

I love it too.

katemess12 · 08/10/2016 20:58

I don't like it at all, but am obviously in the minority.

It's not different to Summer or Winter, which I find equally bad. It's a bit like naming your child Sunday.

Autumnchill · 08/10/2016 21:07

Well I love Autumn as a name but then I would Smile

swissy56 · 08/10/2016 21:20

Yes caoNiMa ! Before the royal connection it was definitely seen as an adult entertainment name. Grin

LovelyBranches · 08/10/2016 23:13

Sorry but I'm not a fan. I know a toddler with the name and her nickname is naughty Auty.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 08/10/2016 23:46

If she's due in Autumn, yes. Any other season a big no no

BellaShLex · 08/10/2016 23:55

I think it's really pretty Smile

bummyknocker · 09/10/2016 00:33

I love the name Sunday, it has the sun in it!

Bellaposey · 09/10/2016 05:40

Beautiful name. I knew a little girl called Autumn when I was younger and always thought it was a lovely name.
