Sidney for a boy

My niece is convinced Sidney is a girls name but thats because she's 13 and it's become a trendy girls name apparently. First I've heard of that.

Nickname for Violet could be Lettie. Love that too. Ooh you're making me broody now with your lovely baby names damn you OP

I like Violet but Sidney for boy or girl is my least favourite name ever. Makes me think of kidney.

I had multiple great uncle Sids. Sounds funny when you say 'sid' but it sounds fine as 'Sid'.

It was kind of popular about 12 years ago. I know at least 3 12 year old Sidney's!

All boys! I do know a 12 year old girl Sydney too that DD has just reminded me about.

Baby arrived safely last week and is a girl! :) We were convinced she was a boy :)

Sydney (for a boy) and Violet are lovely names

It was my granddad's name. If we'd ever had a boy this was on our list. Suited my granddad. I also know a baby Sid. He's gorgeous. Go for it!

Congratulations - I love all your names (Harlow not so much - reminds me of a town in Essex and a scientist who did hideous experiments on monkeys). All the others are very gorgeous to my mind - good luck!
