Romilly, Estella or Raphaella

I am leaning towards Romilly but have a fear that it may turn out to be a very 'current' name and age terribly,
Whereas I like Estella and Raphaella and am aware that they are classics.

What do you think?
Siblings are Eden Sylvie Reuben and Delilah.

I think Romilly goes the best with your other names. I think the 'a' endings on Estella and Raphaella make them slightly more difficult to say with your other children's names, due to 'ah' ending on Delilah.

BTW - I love Delilah!! Would have been top of my list but my OH vetoed it Hmm

Estella is a gorgeous name. I agree with you about Romilly - beautiful name but too "now". Estella goes extremely well with your other children's names - all very Bloomsbury/Arts & Crafts movement - lovely!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/08/2016 10:14

I love Romilly.

Sophronia · 31/08/2016 10:37

Estella

GoldPlatedBacon · 31/08/2016 12:40

Tough one - I love them all! I'd probably choose Estella though purely as it is very high on my list for any future dd.

GoldPlatedBacon · 31/08/2016 12:42

On a side note, I'm wary of Raphaella as there seems to be quite a few Rafferty around my way who are shortened to Rafi plus Ella, whilst a beautiful name, is a bit dull due to overuse.

squoosh · 31/08/2016 12:48

Estella is the loveliest!

I like Raphael for a boy but Raphaella for a girl seems a bit frilly.

squoosh · 31/08/2016 12:50

And if you do call her Estella can you shorten is to Essie rather than Stella? Thanks ever so! Grin

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 31/08/2016 12:54

Estella is my favourite. Raphaella I find a bit of a mouthful and, though I love Romily, I agree it is quite a 'now' name. It is lovely though.

Artandco · 31/08/2016 12:57

Estelle rather than Estella as flows better with other names

ageingrunner · 31/08/2016 13:06

I really like romilley but it is also the name of a town in greater Manchester

squoosh · 31/08/2016 13:08

Romilly reminds me of Rommel the Nazi.

SorenaJ · 31/08/2016 13:09

I prefer Romilly, but I also quite like Estella.

Jemimapuddleduk · 31/08/2016 14:02

I can't get past Romilly being so similar to the name of a suburb of Stockport - Romiley. For me it would be Estella but love Estelle even more.

EllenDegenerate · 31/08/2016 15:30

Thanks for all your comments.
I like Estelle (I also like Marielle) but surname is Leeming and so the name needs to finish on something that doesn't end in an L sound iyswim?

Still rather even between Romilly and Estella.

I have thought of Romilly Estella perhaps?
I agree that I really do not like the NN Stella.

Romilly (with Romy as a nn!)

We've chosen to name our little girl due in december Romy and she's likely to be nicknamed Rome. (I can't help it I always shorten names!) Next would be Estella (nn stella)

Allalonenow · 31/08/2016 15:47

All lovely, but Romilly is my favourite.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 31/08/2016 17:57

Romily Estella is lovely Smile.

leccybill · 31/08/2016 18:02

I absolutely love Romilly but live somewhere nowhere near posh enough to use it.

Loyly · 31/08/2016 18:03

Estella is my favourite

leccybill · 31/08/2016 18:04

Cecily
Penelope
Juliette
Henrietta

are all similar names in that sort of category. I like Cecily.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/09/2016 09:04

I prefer Estelle, lovely name.
Evangeline is nice too.

I love Romilly, and it's top of my list for my December baby. I didn't think it was that much of a 'now' name... I think it's beautiful without being too frilly!

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/09/2016 01:55

I really don't like Romilly but I think that's influenced by the numbers of Romilly streets/avenues/roads and parks where I live.

Estella is lovely.
