Macy v Luna

We already have a Rosalind and a Wulfric (Wolfie) and rarely on mumsnet do people likes the names I pick but we're having a girl soon and we like Macy and Luna, although I can just see all the moon/wolf jokes that could potentially come up with children named Luna and Wolfie.

So which do you prefer?

Quite like both but prefer Luna

Macy just makes me think of the big American department store. It'd be like calling your child Debenham - sorry! I'm not keen on Luna either, I'm afraid. I think Margo/Margot (prefer the second spelling) is lovely.

Marcipex · 27/08/2016 17:56

Margo is lovely and also is as classy as Rosalind.

I quite like Macy, but it doesn't go with your other choices.

Please not Luna, they will all end up being called Loony at the slightest provocation. I speak as one with an awkward first name myself.

Pick Margo! Although I prefer the Margot spelling. I wouldn't use Luna with a Wolfie (can just imagine Wolfie and Loony, not good) and Macy really doesn't compare at all to the beautiful, Shakesperian Rosalind.

Margot, for sure.

Macy reminds me of Macy from 16&pregnant!
Luna is from Harry Potter!

Rosalind, Wulfric & Margot are all classy, classic names.

BroomhildaVonShaft · 28/08/2016 07:07

Neither. Luna is lovely but a bit comedy with wolfie. Macy is just horrible. Mace - macerate - mispronunciation of maisy - mason. Generally a horrible pair of sounds, I don't know why anyone would choose it.

BroomhildaVonShaft · 28/08/2016 07:07

Oh and margot is beautiful and goes very well with rosalind.

villainousbroodmare · 28/08/2016 12:43

Margot. Imo Macy is a bit tacky and Luna is not pretty, is overused and has strong connotations of lunacy.

FrostyApple · 28/08/2016 12:46

I prefer Macy.
