Would you name your new baby after a Pokemon character?

Seems like this is a trend.

They've just made this fit. I thought it was going to say there's been a sudden flush of baby Pikachus in America, but Ash and Ivy? Im sure that has nothing to do with Pokemon.

I do think Charmander is quite nice for a boy, though Grin

Jigglypuff would be great to call in the school register

DaughtersofTriton · 17/08/2016 12:05

Ash is the name of the main human character in the original TV show, if I remember correctly from childhood. He was Pikachu's master.

DaughtersofTriton · 17/08/2016 12:06

Other human characters were called Misty, Brock, Jessie, James, Joy...

JeanGenie23 · 17/08/2016 12:08

Charazard was on my shortlist for names Wink

Well you know it could be the next naming trend, Olivia and Daniel are so last year Grin

Nidorina?
Clefairy?
Jynx?

Or even a Victoria/Annabel name-smush: Victreebel! Grin

In the Japanese list of Pokemon names, Clefairy is known as Pippi. I think I like that better. i still wouldn't use it for a child, though.

And in reverse - children give names to Pokemon. Inspired.
