Sister for Emmeline

Name changed for this so I don't have to worry about outing myself with details!

Me and DH are really struggling to agree on a name this time around and DD2 is due any day. DD1 is Emmeline, which we both love and surname is 2 syllables starting with M.

We have finally managed to create a list of 10 "names we don't hate" and would like as many opinions as we can get without letting family think they have a say!

Alice
Anna
Chloe
Felicity
Holly
Lydia
Robyn
Rosalie
Rose
Victoria

Lydia. It's the name that came into my head without reading your OP.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 09/07/2016 10:50

I like all of these! Perhaps my favourite three to go with Emmeline would be
Lydia
Holly
Alice
and if it's not too cheeky might tweak Anna and turn it into Annabel.

GoldPlatedBacon · 09/07/2016 12:51

Lydia, Robyn or Felicity

Sophronia · 09/07/2016 17:26

I think Felicity goes best with Emmeline

I also like Anna, Rose, Alice and Lydia.

regularbutpanickingabit · 09/07/2016 17:36

I like Rosaline and Holly from your list. Actually Alice would be my favourite but I don't think they sound quite right together.

Otherwise, what about:
Emmeline and Zara
Emmeline and Clara
Emmeline and Francesca
Emmeline and Gabriella
Emmeline and Zoe
Emmeline and rosalia
Emmeline and Margot
Emmeline and Melody
Emmeline and Freya
Emmeline and Seren (or serena)

MrsChrisPratt · 09/07/2016 17:38

Anais

Thanks all!

Donkeys Annabel was on the slightly longer list and could still be a contender.

Regular Clara, Zoe and Seren were all possibilities that we decided against but it's nice to know our taste isn't too terrible!

I like Felicity and Rosalie, both have the 3 syllables thing in common and similar era, unusual but not weird or difficult for English tongues to pronounce. Congratulations!

DramaAlpaca · 09/07/2016 18:10

I adore Emmeline, and your list is lovely.

From your list I think Felicity & Rosalie go beautifully, and Annabel is also nice.

wobblywonderwoman · 09/07/2016 18:15

The above suggestion of Freya is very pretty but I like all of your names (perhaps Chloe not as much)

Also like Francesca or Charlotte

Dogolphin · 09/07/2016 19:46

Antonia (Anna)

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2016 19:52

I like Felicity. Possibly Rosalind rather than Rosalie. Annabel is too close to Christabel for me and the Pankhurst connection. What about Susannah?

daisydalrymple · 09/07/2016 19:52

All beautiful names, all go well with emmeline. Also love most of the suggestions here; I too also thought of Francesca and Charlotte before I read your own list, but I love all of your short list. You may find you can narrow it down by half and then wait to see what she suits best.

daisydalrymple · 09/07/2016 19:54

Chloe, Lydia and rosalie would be my shortlist I think

SorenaJ · 09/07/2016 20:19

Rosalie or Felicity

FlyDragonfly1 · 09/07/2016 22:00

I think Felicity and Rosalie are beautiful and 'fit' the best with Emmeline.

I know one Emmeline whose sister is called Kitty (Katherine) which is cute.

NamingStress · 09/07/2016 22:57

Fly I love Kitty! Unfortunately my name is Katherine and I just can't name my daughter after myself Grin

I know an Emmeline whose little sister is Juliette

BoboBunnyH0p · 09/07/2016 23:24

Rosalie gets my vote it was vetoed by DH.
Also like Felicity and Robyn.

Ambroxide · 09/07/2016 23:44

I vote Felicity or Lydia.

fluffybumbuffy · 09/07/2016 23:45

Marianne

Paramiribella · 09/07/2016 23:49

Christabel
Juliette
Jocelyn
