It's lovely

Beanzmeanzcoffee · 29/06/2016 22:20

I love it. It was our girl name but we had boys. Do think it's getting popular though.

VanessaBet · 29/06/2016 22:22

Pretty. It's only a syllable different to Evie, but less used. And more grown up than flower names.

Numberoneisgone · 29/06/2016 22:23

A bit too old fashioned for me but then that should mean it is due a revival.

Meeep · 29/06/2016 22:25

Love it!

My best friend is calling her daughter ivy after her nan. I think it's a stunning and quirky name...

marblestatue · 29/06/2016 22:41

Lovely

AuntieStella · 29/06/2016 22:49

Sorry, I'm another one who thinks Corrie.

Even though it's years since she left. When a major character has an infrequently used name, it tends to cast quite a long shadow.

Pemba · 29/06/2016 22:56

Not mad on it, TBH, but I know it's quite popular/becoming more so, so you would certainly be on trend.

GoldPlatedBacon · 30/06/2016 17:44

Not particularly keen on it but I know 3 born over the past year so there are people who like it!

Laststop · 30/06/2016 18:06

Oh I didn't realise it was becoming popular , I thought it was quite different from the Evie Elsie ect

Not keen sorry, it has quite a hard sound to it. It's not a plant anyone seems keen to have, I've spent many hours ripping it out for people.

Tactfulcactus · 30/06/2016 18:15

Sorry, not a name I like. Frumpy.

WanderingNotLost · 30/06/2016 20:30

Just sounds a bit old tbh. Bit like Iris.

tinymeteor · 30/06/2016 20:40

Yes!

lozengeoflove · 01/07/2016 07:58

It's a gorgeous name, and of course I'm biased on this one. We've had loads of compliments on it. Our Ivy is a toddler and we've haven't met another one yet.

Laststop · 01/07/2016 09:20

I do like it but really stuck on middle names to go with it

MyBreadIsEggy · 01/07/2016 09:22

Love it!!
I was too of my list for girl's names, but we've found out we are having a boy Smile

Scarydinosaurs · 01/07/2016 09:24

I have an Ivy-Rose and it always receives lots of compliments ☺️

MavolioBent · 01/07/2016 09:27

I love it but it does seem to be getting more popular. Since I had my Ivy 3 years ago I have come across 4 others.

Little, old ladies love it too, everyone I've met seems to have had an aunty Ivy...

MavolioBent · 01/07/2016 09:29

Scary I love Ivy Rose. I wanted that but she has a cousin called Rose so it wasn't to be Smile

PresidentCJCregg · 01/07/2016 09:30

I'm not keen for a very niche reason.

In Trainspotting one of the characters shags his cousin at a funeral (of course) and she's not clean, and he describes her as 'giving off a powerful ivy smell'.

That's always stuck in my mind and it's what I think of when I hear the name. I recognise this is entirely random though.

Laststop · 01/07/2016 09:31

Is ivy rose too flowery ? , I don't know another ivy , but I can see it getting popular :(
