My cousin likes these names for her little girl but wants some opinions before she makes her choice.

Which do you think is nicer?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Both look and sound pretty but he following springs to mind and puts me off:
Lyra = Lycra
Luna = lunatic

Lydia maybe?? Seems to be having a revival.

Is she a fan of children's fiction?

No.

She just liked the names.

The luna(tic) connection hadn't occurred to any of us.

I think ly(c)ra is a bit tenuous though

I prefer Luna as I know too many little Lyras already and it's also a lot like Lara or Layla, Lola etc of which there seem to be hundreds! Luna isn't much like anything else which I've heard recently at least. I also love Luna Lovegood from HP! Smile

Lyra is a beautiful name!

Prefer Lyra

How about Lara?
