I have four kids and am expecting a fifth very, very soon! Our daughters are called Isolde Finn, Honora Valentine and Olympia Saffron. Our lone, gorgeous boy is called Stellan North. Issy is 10 Shock, Nora is 7, Stell is 5 and Pippa is 2. If we have a boy, I like: Ashton Xavier, Charleston Xavier, Hart Ashton or Hart Xavier. I really, really like Noely Truth for a girl but I've had less than pleasant reactions to it! So, I'm turning to MN to see whether you like it. Hit me with your best shot!

I like Joely but not Noely.

Noely Truth sounds like a Christmas themed episode of The X Files.

Cocoabutton · 23/06/2016 21:26

Sojouner Truth was a 19th century women's rights activist. She gave a powerful speech in 1851 which was about the double oppression of being a black woman (Ain't I a woman?)

So, nothing against the idea, but Noely doesn't work. Nola and Nolwyn as pp suggested are nice.

Truth is a really cute middle name, btw. But it is a bit harsh...
Which is why I personally prefer Honesty or Clarity (Clarity is suuper cute imo).

1horatio · 23/06/2016 21:33

Cocoa, this additional information makes me see Truth in a very positive light. N.... Truth could be really lovely.

EllenDegenerate · 23/06/2016 21:41

Your children have great names.
Why every would you voluntarily shorten them?

Noely is bloody awful.

FlossiesFurCoat · 23/06/2016 22:53

In Brazil Noelle is pronounced No-elly, is this the pronunciation you mean for Noely?

LolaStarr · 23/06/2016 22:58

bloody that really made me laugh, I thought Charles xavier too!

Not really a fan of Noely OP, sorry!

SirChenjin · 23/06/2016 23:01

Conjures up images of a west country farmer leaning on a gate, chewing on a straw and dispensing words of wisdom with a knowing nod - Know lee truth, young 'un, oooh arrrrrr Grin

Nah, there's a better names out there. Nola, Nula, Noelle are all good.

SirChenjin · 23/06/2016 23:01

there are

MyNewBearTotoro · 23/06/2016 23:12

Noelle is lovely and I think Noelle Truth, whilst unusual, works.

FinnegansCake · 23/06/2016 23:13

I really don't like Noely, sorry OP. It makes me think of holey or moley . What's wrong with Noelle? You can still call her Noely as a nn if you like it so much.

Truth as a name ... I don't suppose it's any odder than Faith, Hope, Charity, Clemency, Mercy etc

It made me remember the character in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang called Truly Scrumptious

shutupandshop · 23/06/2016 23:27

It sounds like a porn stars name. What about Noeleen jane?

Sophronia · 23/06/2016 23:47

I like Noelle, Noella or Noelia

Ditsy4 · 23/06/2016 23:51

It's awful.

Ditsy4 · 23/06/2016 23:52

Noelle is ok.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 24/06/2016 09:03

Noely truth has a holey tooth.
Gets hat and coat

CourtJester · 24/06/2016 10:23

Noely truth has a holey tooth. Absolutely wetting myself!

Noely is awful, and it looks and sounds very made up. If i saw it i would also guess it's a male name (ie. A nickname for a man named Noel)

I think Noelle is much nicer, but only really suits a Christmas/Winter birth.

Truth as a middle name is a no go too. It's just a word that isn't supposed to be a name. Something similar could be Truly? or Trudy?

NoCapes · 24/06/2016 10:26
Hmm
florascotianew · 24/06/2016 18:20

If the OP is genuine, she needs to know that Sojourner Truth's original name was Isabella. As an adult, S-T chose to re-name herself Sojourner Truth as a deliberate political statement. It became a badge of honour. It was hers; she earned it. Is it appropriate for anyone else?

Lunar1 · 24/06/2016 18:25

I'm just relieved I don't need to send your family a Christmas card!
