Hi all,
I am 36 weeks pregnant and looking for both boy and girl names. My partner is Sikh, family from the Punjab, and I am white British. We already have a hari and a priya.
All ideas welcome pls

I went to school with a Sikh girl called Satinder.

Punit? Pronunciation as in "punnet of strawberries"

I know a Punit and he's a little gem x

GloriousSlug · 20/06/2016 21:57

Simran?

Tuiles · 20/06/2016 21:58

Kiran

Saralyn · 20/06/2016 21:59

Hm, Googled now, and seems Satinder can also be a boys name. Don't know if it is most common for girls or boys

AYD2MITalkTalk · 20/06/2016 22:02

I have a friend who's Simran, and it annoys her than she gets called Simran rather than Simr'n, which apparently is the right pronunciation. Though I guess there could be an accent/dialect difference too.

I had a Sikh friend at school called Abnash, she was Abbie for short.

Aren't you supposed to take the first letter from the Guru Granth Sahib?

Lots of ideas under the 'choose a name' section on this page:

Arun

DailyMailResearcher · 21/06/2016 00:50

Amrit, and is a unisex name and has a lovely meaning. Amrita for a more feminine version.

Mika for a boy. Also Taran, Raj, Arun, Ravi

Sunny is a popular boys name, I like that lots

Jeevan is another unisex name

Most names are unisex as Sikhism believes men and women are equal but you can still adapt them to make them more masculine/feminine.

GreatFuckability · 21/06/2016 01:02

I love Taran, in welsh it means Thunder which i think is fantastic, sorry totally beside the point for you.

CourtJester · 21/06/2016 10:37

I like Kiran too, i know a male one
