I love Willow, Isla and Talia.

ReginaTheVelociraptor · 10/06/2016 00:04

Actually truly love Orla too. You have fantastic choice in names.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 10/06/2016 00:12

Not keen on Aurelia or Aurora, just because they're a bit of a mouthful really.

Not sure about Talia although I do know one who is 6 now.

Orla, Willow and Isla are lovely but Isla is getting quite popular if you wanted a more unusual name.

WanderingTrolley1 · 10/06/2016 00:15

The best out of a bad bunch would be Isla, I guess.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/06/2016 00:44

All gorgeous with the executive of Aurelia
and Orla.
I think at a push though I'd go for Talia, but pronounced Talia not Talia.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 10/06/2016 00:52

Well, blow me, I like them all. Also Freya and Shona and Shana.
In order...

  1. Aurélia
  2. Talia
  3. Isla
  4. Orla
  5. Aurora
  6. Willow

Orla or Aurora! All great though.

Joinourclub · 10/06/2016 01:04

I like Orla, Willow and Isla. Aurelia and Aurora are a bit much, and always remind me of Areola!

MyCatWasRightAboutYou · 10/06/2016 01:12

I like Isla and Talia. Talia more.
Aurelia reminds me of something to do with ear disease. (Sorry! Blush)

Hariasa · 10/06/2016 01:29

Orla or Isla.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/06/2016 01:38

Exception not executive. FFS. Will autocorrect never learn to keep its beak out.

julfin · 10/06/2016 02:47

All lovely names. But I would steer clear of Isla if you don't want her to be one of half a dozen in her class.

In order:
Aurelia
Aurora
Orla
Talia
Willow
Isla

Would you use one of these for a middle name too, or do you have a different mn planned?

lemonpoppyseed · 10/06/2016 02:50

I'm going to throw Willa into the mix too :) I met one at the park earlier this week...

Just5minswithDacre · 10/06/2016 02:57

Talia, Willow and Isla are the nicest of those; beautiful but not too frilly.

MumOnACornishFarm · 10/06/2016 04:07

Some pretty choices here. Smile But Aurora makes me think of a disney princess and Willow makes me think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, sorry.
Isla is lovely but becoming super popular, I think. What about Iona?
Orla
Isla
Aurelia
Talia
Willow
Aurora

ABitAsleep · 10/06/2016 11:46

Talia! Love it! Much nicer and less used than some of the others!

LadyAntonella · 10/06/2016 13:12

Some lovely names op!

Aurelia - I am one of the few MNetters who doesn't like this name/. I know one and I find it a mouthful; it really doesn't flow well or trip of the (my) tongue.

Orla - really like. It's short, easy to spell and pretty without sounding 'made up' or overused.

Talia - really love this. Think it's my favourite of your list.

Willow - really like this.

Isla - Nice but is quite popular (especially in Scotland). Depends whether that bothers you.

Aurora - love this (actually this might be my favourite) and love the nn Rory.

waxweasel · 10/06/2016 13:53

I like Talia most. It was on my shortlist.

Next would be Isla but is too popular for me to choose, followed by Aurelia.

Willow feels a bit faddy and now. But I agree it's a nice sound and has good NN potential.

Really don't like Aurora, I think because it feels a bit frilly, incomplete and lightweight with the lack of hard consonant sounds. I also think it's a bit tricky to say. I dislike Orla too because it feels a bit incomplete, and also makes me think of whales. Maybe because the Italian for whale is orca.

Mrspopper · 10/06/2016 14:00

Orla.... Lovely lovely lovely.
I like Isla but it is super popular if that is something that bothers you.

needtomovesomewherewarmer · 10/06/2016 23:25

Thanks for everyones comments . I really love Aurelia and have for years but the comments about it being a mouthful and incorrectly pronounced are my thoughts also. And dh isn't sold on it.

Isla dh and I both agree on and like a lot, but we also don't like it's popularity - possibly enough to veto it.

So a potentially shorter list is Orla , Talia (Dh prefers Talitha) or Willow (this is dh's least fav).

No fixed name for middle yet. If it works i'd like to use Jean after my nan. I thought for example Jean work work well with Isla - Isla Jean ........???

Aurelia is utterly beautiful. One thousand Willows, Orlas and Islas here!

PippaFawcett · 10/06/2016 23:54

Orla!

needtomovesomewherewarmer · 10/06/2016 23:59

Waitrose really?? We have a few Islas around here but I have only met one Orla (an older work colleague some years ago from somewhere else in Europe) and not a single Willow....

Aghh i do love Aurelia though . And the nn options. dh will never agree i don't think!!

I think Talia and Talitha both work OK with Jean - willow does not .
