Need girls names!

DH and I are currently discussing ttc baby #2. We have a boy's name chosen (Jamie - DH's middle name) but we're at a loss for girls names. Our LO is named Martha Rose.

So far, I like;

Florence - DH isn't sure
Grace - Maybe as a middle?
Ella - Maybe too common?
Millie - Too many M's?
Daisy/Daisie - DH prefers the 'ie' ending, I don't have a preference.
Rhiannon - too 1990s? I'm 1/2 Welsh though, so a Welsh name might be nice.

Names we cannot use:

Poppy, Penelope, Pippa, etc - surname starts with P.
Lucy - DH's first girlfriend, it turns out. Lucy was my #1 for a baby girl until he told me.
Victoria - bad family association for me.
Hayley - his sister.
Charlotte - taken by a family member.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Jamie can be a girl's name too.

Re Daisy/Daisie: if you're going to use a name that is a word, surely it should be spelt as the word?

Angharad
Eleri
Elin
Bronwen
Blodwen

Flora
If Florence, nn Florrie
Maisie, could be as nn for Margaret or Marguerite
Bella, perhaps as nn for Belinda or Arabella
Amabel
Alice
Laura

I think Grace goes with any if yours or mine

Florence - not my personal taste but ok. Becoming quite popular if that bothers you?
Grace - nice
Ella - very popular
Millie - Ok. Possibly too many "m's" with Martha as you said. I wouldn't use Millie as the given name, more as a nickname.
Daisy - don't like. Can't imagine it on a young adult.
Rhiannon - my favourite of your list

Other suggestions:
Caitlyn
Verity
Hannah
Elizabeth nn Beth
Eleanor/Elena
Lydia
Bronwen
Carys
Ffion

mummytomartha · 23/05/2016 20:15

@bikerunski - I prefer Jamie for a boy, and DH is pretty set on using it on a son, not sure he'd give in for a girl? I get what you mean about Daisy/Daisie though.

love the suggestions of Bronwen, Maisie, Arabella, Alice, Laura, Verity, Elizabeth, Hannah, Lydia, Eleanor, Carys and Ffion.

@spotty - thank you Grin

DH and I seem to like names that are all over the map - with Martha we considered things like Beatrice, Florence and Amelia, as well as Minnie, Ella-Mae and Honey. (Think Ella-Mae might find it's way back onto the list againHalo
