Very overused.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 23/05/2016 02:36

Eva. Is gorgeous
Lily Over used. To the point of irritation. I think it's a horrible name. Lilia would be a nice alternative.
Aoife. A bit more different, but not to my taste
Isla. . Yes it's overused, but gorgeous at the same time.

LucyBabs · 23/05/2016 02:47

Lily : lovely name
Eva: Did you know it's pronounced Ava in Spanish?
Love the name Eva or Evie after Lucy of course Wink
Aoife: great Irish name but out of date in Ireland IMO
Isla: have no idea how this is pronounced?

WanderingTrolley1 · 23/05/2016 03:02

Eva.

Can't stand the others.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 23/05/2016 03:53

Isla. Is pronounced. Eye-ler. It rhymes with Tyler

1horatio · 23/05/2016 07:24

I really don't like Isla.
Lily is lovely, but just sooo popular. I also like Eva. Aoife is really pretty and less popular, which is something I personally like.

megletthesecond · 23/05/2016 07:26

All lovely but all over used. They sound like half of dd's infant class.

LaGattaNera · 23/05/2016 07:29

Eva definitely the best and v classy.

HouseOfBiscuits · 23/05/2016 09:10

Lily

I like them all Smile
Be prepared for being asked one L or two if you go for Lily though drives me insane

useyourimagination · 23/05/2016 10:04

I know lots of Evas and Lilys, one or two Aoifes but not a single Isla. I'd go with Isla.

verite · 23/05/2016 11:30

I love Isla but one of my concerns was its popularity. It's apparently no 3 on list of most popular names (and lily no 9). Eva by comparison is 27 and aoife is not even in top 100 so surprised people think they are overused. Our surname also has a prominent l sound in it so not sure if lily and Isla sound wrong with it. Dilemmas, dilemmas.

Oddly by the way, none of the girls in my sons primary school class have any of those names so maybe the popularity is regional (we are london).

I'm London too and all the 'popular' and 'overused' names are not so where I live, people clearly bend over backwards not to give their child such a name! Boys' names are more so here.

I like Eva best from your list. I don't know of one, though I know of one Eve and one Evie.

MitzyLeFrouf · 23/05/2016 12:03

Eva is the nicest by far.

AngelsWithFilthySouls · 23/05/2016 12:06

Love Isla (know one aged 6) and Aoife (don't know any). I quite like Eva (know one aged 3) too but really not keen on Lily (don't know any).

SabineUndine · 23/05/2016 16:08

Iona

icouldabeenacontender · 23/05/2016 16:09

Anything but Isla.

HollyC255552 · 23/05/2016 16:12

Eva definitely!! Its my DD name after all. Grin

heron98 · 23/05/2016 16:15

I like Isla. Aoife is fucking awful (sorry).

LadyAntonella · 23/05/2016 16:23

Aoife is maybe less popular than the others and it's also my personal favourite. Smile

LadyAntonella · 23/05/2016 16:23

Really like pp's suggestion of Iona too.

TeradelFuego · 23/05/2016 17:17

Eva is gorgeous. Aoife has a similar sound, I believe, but might have problems with people pronouncing it wrongly. Have you got any Irish connections?

Lily is pretty but quite overused at the moment, as pps said.

Isla is tremendously popular ATM. I don't know why really, it is fine but I find it a bit dull somehow.

BoboBunnyH0p · 23/05/2016 17:40

I vote Eva, lovely name and not as popular as Lily or Isla. Sorry don't know how to pronounce Aoife so others may have a similar problem.
