I am 27 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Have 2 choices for the name either

Poppy Iris
Ruby Iris

Which one would you pick?

Iris Elizabeth would be beautiful.

Not keen on Poppy or Ruby, both very popular in recent years but if I had to choose then Ruby. Also agree that either followed by Iris sounds like a red eye disease!

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 10/05/2016 19:07

Both lovely names but there are so many in Key Stage 1 in my school!

TeradelFuego · 10/05/2016 19:32

Ruby is nicer IMO. Also Poppy is very cute, but quite little-girly, Ruby sounds as if it could be an adult name too, as pps said, I can't imagine an adult Poppy.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/05/2016 19:35

Poppy Iris.

cosmicglittergirl · 10/05/2016 19:39

Agree with Iris Elizabeth.

Paddletonio · 10/05/2016 19:44

Iris
Ruby
Poppy

Is my preference, though all nice enough

julfin · 10/05/2016 22:12

I agree that either combo sounds a bit like an eye disorder. I would put Iris as the first name - really lovely.

Iris Elizabeth would be beautiful. Or Iris Ruby is nice. I'd rule out Poppy - two flowers in one name is a bit much imo.

I like Ruby Elizabeth too, in fact.

Sophronia · 10/05/2016 23:10

Iris Elizabeth would be lovely

Bellalilysmith123 · 11/05/2016 01:20

I love Poppy! Poppy is far more spunkier than Ruby and Poppy Iris is so sweet.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 11/05/2016 01:22

Ruby Iris

Choccybadger · 11/05/2016 02:16

Ooh, don't like either Ruby or Poppy. Too many of them around where we live and sound like names to give a doll.
Iris is gorgeous. If you wanted a jewel name to go with, Iris Pearl sounds nice
What about Eleanor? Or Rosemary?

Pipilangstrumpf · 11/05/2016 10:52

I'm not keen on either Ruby or Poppy at all. I find them too cutesy and not feminine or elegant.

LucyInTheSkyWithDonuts · 11/05/2016 10:55

Ruby is very, very dated. It's the 2000s version of Sharon.

Poppy is cute for anyone under 10.

Iris is rather nice :)

TeradelFuego · 11/05/2016 21:41

Rubbish (re Ruby). Apart from being classier than that, it was never as ubiquitous as Sharon was in it's time. I don't know what would be the equivalent, maybe something hyphenated.
