Unusual boy's names

VaVaVooom · 30/04/2016 08:21

The list so far is:

Ezra
Rowan
Elijah
River
Griffin

Rowan is DP's choice, it's nice enough but it's the name of an ex and I don't have the heart to tell him....

Other children have fairly unusual names so would sound a bit odd to use Tom or Charlie.

What do you think of the others?

I love Ezra and Elijah. Really love them. Gorgeous, classic, biblical names which are also fashionable without being too popular. I'd have used names like that in a shot but DH was much more a Tom and Charlie sort of namer. Not keen on Rowan as it's a bit weedy, or River as it's a bit drippy hippy.

BikeRunSki · 30/04/2016 09:44

I like Ezra

Are you looking for other suggestions?

River is my favourite from the list.

Flopsyhopsy · 30/04/2016 11:29

None of them are unusual imo. I know boys with all your suggested names.

I like Ezra and Rowan best.

Ezra is pretty popular these days, it's my favourite from those though.

cece · 01/05/2016 14:35

John is pretty unusual these days Grin

IME the names you have listed (or similar) tend to be the more popular ones as people want to chose unusual names. Hope that makes sense. Having said that I don't know anyone called River - although I do think there is a reason for that!

Strokethefurrywall · 01/05/2016 14:42

Griffin is my favorite on your list. Little Griff, how cute is that?!

IAmALeafOnTheWindWatchHowISoar · 01/05/2016 15:40

River off your list for me. But all those names are pretty popular around here.

May I throw Piper into the mix.

Ilovewillow · 01/05/2016 15:58

Ezra and Griffen Are lovely! I have a Seth so I bit biased but a fab name. We also liked Gage, Gabriel and Atticus.

TooManyJars · 01/05/2016 20:01

How about Rohan instead of Rowan

BendydickCuminsnatch · 01/05/2016 20:14

I don't think any of them are that unusual, particularly Elijah, Rowan and River. I know babies with all those names. They're all good choices though! :)

I love Ezra!!

Hushabyelullaby · 01/05/2016 20:18

Ezra is my favourite.

I quite like Kellen for an unusual boys name.

Enkopkaffetak · 01/05/2016 20:26

I would call Rowan and Elijah for mainstream names. of your list I like Griffen the pst/

Enkopkaffetak · 01/05/2016 20:26

best :)

WellErrr · 01/05/2016 20:28

Caspar!

It's a lovely name and I can't use it so will keep suggesting it until someone else does.

Also - Ezra, Elijah, and Rowan are not really unusual anymore Smile

NationMcKinley · 01/05/2016 20:31

Love love Ezra. Also love Rowan.

If we'd had a 4th DS he'd have been either of those. Or Isaiah. Or Eli.

DS3 was very nearly Casper. That's also a great name (can you tell it took aaaages for us to name them??) Grin

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 01/05/2016 20:32

Love Ezra.
