Just watched a horror film "the boy"

The creepy man doll character child thing is called Brahms.....(bramsey) aa a nickname.

I think its really cute! Could anyone nane their child a name associated with a horror film?

It would depend. Brahms doesn't immediately conjure up images of a horror film.
If my surname was Kruger or Voorhies though, I wouldn't be calling my child Freddie or Jason!

pratiaalba · 26/04/2016 00:09

Brahms is a composer.
Do you like his music? People will expect you to, if you name your child after him.

Ye true..

Yeah, don't go for Chucky. It didn't even work in the rugrats

Ilikewinetoomuch · 26/04/2016 00:13

I'm googling all associations with Brahms....

But yes composer never thought!

My dd is called Amberley and I think the names kinda compliment each other xx

A name from a well-known horror film is on my shortlist but I'm not sharing it here because I don't want anyone to nick it!

DerelictMyBalls · 26/04/2016 10:43

Brahms is brilliant, by the way.

MiddleClassProblem · 26/04/2016 11:29

How many people called Jonny get to to do a Shining impression? Also never met anyone called Annabelle and immediately thought of the doll, same with Carrie and their names are the titles. Brahms I would automatically think composer.

Gummibaers · 26/04/2016 11:49

Johannes Brahms here too.

So a good association imo, I like his music Smile.

MTPurse · 26/04/2016 11:51

I have a Jason, does that count?

Ilikewinetoomuch · 28/04/2016 22:34

Don't hear so many Pinheads being called from the bagel aisle in Waitrose these days.

DerelictMyBalls · 02/05/2016 09:34

Ah, thanks for the reminder, PelvicFloor

NeedAGrip · 02/05/2016 09:39

I would think of the composer if I heard Brahms.

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 02/05/2016 09:48

Rosemary

SanityClause · 02/05/2016 09:51

Brahms is also Cockney rhyming slang for drunk.

Brahms and Liszt - pissed.

MyBreadIsEggy · 02/05/2016 09:57

My parents were going to call me Damian if I was a boy Hmm

I would also think of the composer if heard the name Brahms!

JeanGenie23 · 02/05/2016 10:00

Damien is the only horror name that really sticks for me.

I saw the conjuring recently which had an Annabelle in it but that's a popular enough name to not be tied to the film.

Same goes for Carrie, Jason, Freddie, Rosemary.

I think Chucky is a no no regardless of the films!

Mclaren37 · 03/05/2016 03:10

I quite like Brahms. Definitely made the composer connection and not the horror film connection though. If you're not keen on that then I saw another thread in here asking about the name Abraham nn. Bram. That's nice too? A slightly less unusual name and Bram also sounds good with Amberley?

Ilikewinetoomuch · 03/05/2016 04:16

Haha well my friend has called her boy lucious....my dp keeps calling him lucifer
