Boys' names - what might we have missed?

20 week scan tomorrow and hopefully we will also be able to find out the sex.

If dc2 turns out to be another DS, we're struggling a bit because we feel like we picked the best name already for DS Smile. His name is Conrad.

We have a long list (well, I do, DH has been hopeless) and I wondered if there were any others we might have missed:

Rufus (current favourite)
Bruno (I LOVE this, but DH is refusing to budge yet to be persuaded)
Rory
Gregory
Roderick (known as Roddy)
Fraser
Fergus
Edgar
Mortimer (I'm not sure about this one)

Our surname is two syllables beginning with T and ending in -son

Ta very much

Angus?
Patrick?

Of your names, I like Gregory and Fraser the best

Good Luck

Edgar. Fabulous name. King Lear reference. Great.

mrsmugoo · 20/04/2016 20:08

My unused boys name from this pregnancy that's a girl was Ernest. I love the name so much! I'll never have a little Ernest now as I'm done popping out babies!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 20/04/2016 20:09

Gregory, Roderick and Edgar would be my picks from your list

Lawrence
Emerson
Elliot
Edwin
Murdo
Brodie
Ralph
Moray/Murray
Austin

Artandco · 20/04/2016 20:09

I have a Conrad.

Names we considered: Eric, Arthur, Timon, Alvin, Ernest

Grufalosfriend · 20/04/2016 20:18

I love

Rufus
Quentin
Bruno

SewSlapdash · 20/04/2016 20:35

We have a very close friend Angus, but I love Gus as a name. I'm afraid I can never not snigger at Ralph, thanks to Judy Blume. Grin

Isn't Conrad just the best name Art?

I think Rufus, Bruno, Gregory and possibly Roderick/Roddy will make it the shortlist. I like Lawrence too, I caught that in the ONS list the other day.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 20/04/2016 23:35

sophronia I had to come back onto the thread as I thought you'd commented on my comment (pasted it in) and then saw that you just posted more or less the same as me :)

Bruno is the name of a dog, imo. Sorry. I really like Gregory and Edgar are awesome!
Maybe you'd also like Arthur, Ulric or Amos?

BlueUggs · 21/04/2016 06:52

Cormac/Cormack

Artandco · 21/04/2016 09:41

Conrad def suits our eldest, he's the only one we know also which is nice.

Actually another name we liked was Alaric

A4Document · 21/04/2016 12:43

That's a nice interesting shortlist.

Rufus - fabulous name
Bruno - not keen
Rory - don't like
Gregory - quite like
Roderick (known as Roddy) - too similar to Conrad? Rod and Rad?
Fraser - don't like
Fergus - quite like
Edgar - too eggy, like Edwin though
Mortimer - reminds me of mortified, not keen

SewSlapdash · 21/04/2016 14:05

Well, thanks for all your input. However, it's turns out we're having a girl after all Smile
