It is alright

DramaAlpaca · 03/04/2016 22:14

I quite like it.

Itinerary · 03/04/2016 22:16

It's OK.

OnwardsAndUpwardsYo · 03/04/2016 22:17

I adore this name, it's one I really liked when pregnant.

I like nature names.

RJnomore1 · 03/04/2016 22:17

I love it but I loved river Phoenix still not over it

Dd1 is named after him in a round about way

The only river I know is a girl though.

GherkinMuncher · 03/04/2016 22:21

I like it, but it does depend on the surname.

Chloeisobelle21 · 03/04/2016 22:33

I do like it a lot as it is nature themed. Second name is Turner

Very silly. I would think River's parents were massive hippies or misguided River Phoenix fans.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 03/04/2016 22:39

I like it but don't think it's right with Turner sorry.

WavingFlag · 03/04/2016 23:12

I've known 2, one girl. one boy
the girls surname was an actual river (think river Thames, but not Thames iycwim)
The boy had the surname that sounded like a day out.
so really I'm not keen!

FlowerOfTheWest · 03/04/2016 23:21

I don't think it goes with your surname sorry, the repetition of the -er ending doesn't sound right.

Sophronia · 03/04/2016 23:28

I love it.

Tactfulcactus · 03/04/2016 23:29

It's not a name...

howcomes · 03/04/2016 23:39

It's a lovely name. I've met one other River recently - a little boy whose Dad commented that his name was so apt because he never stopped moving :)

GingerLeaves · 04/04/2016 01:17

I quite like it!

To Whovians (and there are a lot of them) it's River Song, so would be odd on a boy.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 04/04/2016 07:40

I know 2 baby boys called River.

Not my cup of tea personally, which is weird as I'm usually all for variety and 'different' names. I don't know, I think it sounds more like a girls name (again I usually think that's a stupid statement) and a bit too try-hard.

I think it's the new Arlo, lots of parents simultaneously thinking it will be v unusual, so there turns out to be a lot of them.

nectarini1983 · 04/04/2016 07:43

I really like it!

Rosa · 04/04/2016 07:50

no sorry don't like it ...

annandale · 04/04/2016 07:52

Not keen on it with your surname, although intrinsically it's a nice sound.

Trying to think of more boys' nature names and it does seem like a lot of them are thought of as girls' names.

Hawk?

2016namechangecomingalong · 04/04/2016 07:56

I don't like it on its own but doesn't go with your surname either imo, sorry.

Marcipex · 04/04/2016 08:34

I like it, but it doesn't go with your surname.

What about a particular river? I know two girls named Tamar.
