The name is Keir Ian James.

We have a surname beginning with Mr - are the initials just too close in the alphabet or wouldn't that matter? The two middle names are close family names and the first name I just love.

Thoughts? (Temp name change due to friends knowing my username)

I think it's a lovely name!

AuntJane · 03/03/2016 16:55

Love it! Although when giving his full name some might mis-hear as Kieran James.

Pidapie · 03/03/2016 17:12

Good name imo :)

BroadcastHouse · 03/03/2016 17:20

Quite like Keir, a new one for me, but yes it does sounds confusing followed by Ian. Keir Ian all becomes one word. Could you have Kier James Ian instead?

RamonaTheBrave · 03/03/2016 17:22

I did think that but didn't feel that Keir James Ian folded as well as Keir Ian James.

I was thinking as well that it is so rare that we would say his full name especially as he got older. Obviously I would pause between the Keir and Ian too

All great names, but I also think that Keir James Ian works better.

soundsystem · 03/03/2016 17:36

I love it! I know a Keir who is a thoroughly nice chap. He does get a bit annoyed that people alway spell his name wrong because of "I before e except after c", but I don't think that's taught any more.

Agree Keir Ian James flows better than Keir Jame Ian.

Allalonenow · 03/03/2016 17:41

Keir is a fab name, I think Keir Ian James works well.

Sounds like a good Scottish name to me!

RamonaTheBrave · 03/03/2016 17:54

Scottish we are Smile with a Scottish surname too. When I say the full name it doesn't sound like Keiran - definately sounds like Keir Ian. I was expecting people to not like the Ian part as it's not very well liked on here upon searching past baby names.

Lovely name!

Suit · 03/03/2016 20:01

Lovely.

magpie17 · 03/03/2016 20:04

Fab name all round. I'm glad you're Scottish though, I loved Keir for DS but I'm English (DH is Scottish and we live in Scotland) and when I say it it sounds like 'Kia'! It's lovely with the Scottish 'rrrrr' on the end.

DramaAlpaca · 03/03/2016 20:05

I like it a lot.

AlisonWunderland · 03/03/2016 20:11

I wouldn't get too hung up on how the full name sounds as long as you like each bit. No one ever uses it

RamonaTheBrave · 03/03/2016 20:25

That's what I thought Alison thanks all, getting excited for this little man Star
