Not usually in this country, Pegaroo. Are you outside the UK?

I refer you to the poem by AA Milne (author of 'Winnie the Pooh') mentioned by pp.

'Emmeline, has not been seen
For more than a week. She slipped between
.......'

You can tell it's 'Emma-LEEN' not line, because of the rhymes.

Also this Hot Chocolate song:

(Although, confusingly, the song's official title seems to be 'Emma')

Emma-Lean

I pronounce it the same way as Pegaroo and I'm in the UK

Burgatroyd · 05/03/2016 16:34

It wont matter as I'm sure people will mishear and call her Emily

Alisvolatpropiis · 05/03/2016 20:13

Emma-lean but as Burgatroyd points out, people will mistake it for Emily all the time in spoken conversation.

I've gone off it now, Emma-Lean reminds me too much of Kathleen. I do however like Caroline.
