I refer you to the poem by AA Milne (author of 'Winnie the Pooh') mentioned by pp.

You can tell it's 'Emma-LEEN' not line, because of the rhymes.

Emma-Lean

I pronounce it the same way as Pegaroo and I'm in the UK

It wont matter as I'm sure people will mishear and call her Emily

Emma-lean but as Burgatroyd points out, people will mistake it for Emily all the time in spoken conversation.

I've gone off it now, Emma-Lean reminds me too much of Kathleen. I do however like Caroline.
