Hi, I'm due in 10 weeks time and we simply cannot decide on a suitable name. Hubby doesn't like anything traditional (James/George etc) and I don't like anything too odd or made up. Wanted a family name but unfortunately that's a no go. Our surname is short beginning with B so I feel any names beginning with B then sound like a cartoon character/super hero.

Our list so far consists of Archie, Fletcher, Barnaby (B name!!), Rafe, Rafferty. I still don't think they're right...please help.

Have all been vetoed by my DH for not being traditional enough! I don't think they're 'made up' either so might work for you?

Thank you so much for all the help. Added a few to the list although MIL is trying to push for Fraser. I'm not too sure... Reminds me of the to programme.

I love Fraser! Please go for that!

Also love Evan,Owen and Edgar suggested above. All are relatively unusual without being quirky.

Good Luck!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 21/02/2016 10:32

I like Fraser too. It would have been top of our list if it hadn't been the name of DHs ex's dad, who was a bit of a dick.

MamaLazarou · 21/02/2016 14:03

Do you mean the TV programme Frasier? It is an entirely different name from Fraser. Spelt and pronounced differently.

thebiscuitindustry · 21/02/2016 14:30

I don't like Fraser, sorry.

I have a Fletcher Smile I loved it when we first chose it 10years ago and I still love it now. We have only ever come across 1 other Fletcher and I am now struggling to come up with a name for baby boy number 2 who is due in July

Hope you find a name you love Smile
