Just wondering which of these spelling people thought were the most common. I've also seen it spelled Aden (The name of a park near where DH used to live) but I don't want to do an unusual spelling and have him having to clarify how to spell his name for the rest of his life!

My ds gets that too BlueChampagne. It's very annoying.

It's us English and our pronunciation I guess, we say AidEn and then spell phonetically forgetting it's roots!

Aidan

Aiden is made up...

So glad everyone is saying Aidan! I blame that X factor chap for the upsurge in Aidens.

Aden is a different name altogether but more acceptable than Aiden.

Whichever you choose, he will have to put up with some misspellings but worth it for (imho) one of the most beautiful names.

Mine is Aidan. It's right!

Well as an Irish person I prefer Aodhán but presuming you're in the UK

That's pronounced ay-awn.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 12:45

And yes Aiden is a misspelling. Aidan is correct.

Izzieee · 16/02/2016 20:43

Yep, Aidan - it's lovely!

Aiden is made-up American.
