So, how about these 3 names, which one do you all prefer?

I like them all, but definitely think Catherine nn Kitty, not Kitty as a registered name.

Have you been to India? I think if you've been there it's more understandable that you would use it as a name in homage to the place, iyswim.

Jemima is nice, quite posh and relatively underused.

I think Kitty is cute for a nickname for Katherine, etc. When you have a little baby Kitty, she will be adorable and her name will suit her, but you have to imagine her grown up with an office job or even as prime minister. My personal opinion is that it is too cutesy and babyish for an adult.

I love the name India, but i knew a girl called India once with lovely long dark hair and she is what sticks in my memory with that name. And to be honest i can't really imagine a blonde or redhaired India now.

I also love Jemima, i think it has good possibilities for nicknames with Jem, etc. It is cute, but i also think it could suit a grown up. (Although i do think of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang everytime i hear this name)

Have you been to India?

I know someone with a daughter called India but it's because her parents stayed in India and loved it. Bit weird to call your daughter after a country you've never been to otherwise

Like them all!
In order of preference:
Jemima
India
Kitty (But only because I would have to call her Katherine with nn Kitty.. if Katherine is in the mix it would be my fav.)

Kitty is my favourite. Kitty is a character in Pride and Prejudice.

NotMyMonkey · 17/02/2016 20:08

Kitty or Kit. Jemima is OK, really don't like India.

IoraRua · 17/02/2016 20:21

India

Catherine, nn Kitty.

georgetteheyersbonnet · 21/02/2016 01:05

Katherine, nn Kitty; or Jemima. Jemima is great.

I like them all.
And if you like Kitty as a stand alone name - use it.
My preference would be

  1. India
  2. Kitty
  3. Jemima
