4th girl name

sistah77 · 09/02/2016 13:26

I give birth to my 4th baby girl last week. All the others were named within a week but we just cant seem to get our heads rounds a name for this one! I have a Mya, Alicia and Isla at home and my DH loves the name Layla but i think it is a bit too similar to Isla? We both like the 'a' ending and I'd like to avoid children with the same initials. The one thing we have decided on is the middle name which will be Charlotte so we aren't looking for anything too long for a first name. I'd love something quite unusual but not spelled to differently that would be difficult for anyone to pronounce...Suggestions welcome!

Ava, Lena, Iona, Eva, Lyra, Thea, Lena, Elia, Rhea, Delilah/Lila, Lillia

It may not fit the brief....as I suppose not unusual but actually not often used at the moment and is a different letter and ends in a and classically beautiful.... : Emma

Freya is spoilt for me because it is an underwear brand! If it didn't make me think of bras then I think that's lovely!

Clara is lovely too.

Or Zara?

Don't like Freya at all. Reminds me of Frey bentos pies. Also it's v 'trendy' at the mo so will date quickly. I think Layla is gorgeous works great with your names, not too similar to Isla.

HolsW · 10/02/2016 05:43

It's too similar and I also don't like Freya, but it does go well :)

Kiera is my suggestion!

I know a lovely Zinnia..

turdfairynomore · 10/02/2016 18:54

Francesca

Nina - I think it means young girl in Spanish.

Laura is much under-used and is beautiful and timeless.

Francesca

Ava

Eva

Anya is also pretty and uncommon.

Orla would fit nicely.

Cara

I don't know why but I just feel Layla sounds a bit brassy...

I know it doesn't end 'a' but I heard Tahli (pronounced Tarli) the other day (Annie Lennox's daughter) and thought that was nice!

sara11272 · 10/02/2016 19:06

That's funny Schmoo, I just came on to suggest 'Thalia' which is like Tahli but with the a on!

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 11/02/2016 12:06

What do you decide then?

sistah77 · 11/02/2016 15:45

still no decision! DH seems stuck on Layla. Though if we do go with it I think I prefer the spelling Laila. I do like Thalia Sara11271 - definitely going to mention that one! We both like Kiera but being in Ireland there are a lot of Ciaras around. Sienna, Ava, Olivia, Elora, Orla and Nina are all used by cousins/close friends so have been ruled out (we have a lot of girls in the family!).
