Traditional but uncommon and maybe some welsh

So me and my DW are expecting our first DC but we can't seem to find any names we both like. We also don't know if we are having a son or a daughter.

We both like traditional names but DW doesn't want anything too common.
She would also like something welsh either as a first name or a middle name.

So could you all please suggest some baby names for us

I love Iwan - the Welsh version of Euan.
Also like Rhys.

deerman · 30/01/2016 20:23

Thank you
DW likes Iwan but I'm not so sure.
And Rhys has already been used by a few family members so we can't use it as well.

Taliesin is my brave boys name, or Aneurin or Caredig. Emlyn has that old man chic.
Love Osian and Ianto too.

For girls Gwenan, Haf, Mabli and Eira.

Love Tyrion and Gwydion too.

Welsh names are great!

I have a Seren - such a lovely name, even if I do say so! It is common to hear it here in Wales though.

I love Taliesin and Osian for a boy.

I also love Cariad for a girl.

Youreadthebabybooks · 31/01/2016 08:43

Celyn is pronounced kel-in
It means holly in Welsh

FlyDragonfly1 · 31/01/2016 15:00

DS2 is Ianto (Yan-To), which is a pet form of Ifan which is the Welsh equivalent of John.
We also had Idris, Iwan, Ieuan, Gethin and Griffith on the list.
How about Cerys, Carys, Seren, Eira (snow) for a girl?
