Hi :) we have a DD, due in March. I'm getting a bit fed up of all the popular names - I used to love them! I was looking at flower/plant names and Roselle came up - what do you think? :)

It fits DH's favourite name (Rosie - he isn't keen on Rose/Rosa) and mine! (I like Ellie/Ella)... I just really like it, so does DH :)

If shes nn Rosie why not go all out and call her Rosalina!

CoodleMoodle · 21/01/2016 18:54

I love 'Rose' names. DD is Rosie, on the birth certificate and everything... I love it, always have. Your DH has good taste!

Not sure on Rosella, though. I love Rosalie. And Rosemary. And just Rose.

I like Roselle. But it's a relative's middle name, so I have always been aware of it as a name.

I think Rosalie, Rosalind and Rosaline are all beautiful names that are similar to what you're going for. but. Roselle sounds a bit 80's perfume to me (sorry!)

Ham69 · 21/01/2016 20:02

I really like Rosalie. I actually know a lovely girl called Rosetta.

JassyRadlett · 21/01/2016 22:13

Roselle sounds to me like an Australian women in her 70s or 80s with a broad accent. (NB: I am an Australian woman in her late 30s.)

It also makes me think of Rosella jam.

Rosamund (Rose of the world)
