Towie haters look away.

Sam Faiers has named her baby Paul Tony after his dad. What do we think?

I personally think it is very bad.

I like Paul Smile

I like Paul. It's much better than some of the names you see on here.
I do think I would have gone with Anthony rather than Tony as a middle name. But it's a lovely choice.

whatdoIget · 18/01/2016 22:49

It's just a normal name to me. I'm quite old though. I can't see that there's anything controversial about it Confused

I like the name Paul, it's my brothers name and my sons middle name

CormoranStrike · 21/01/2016 18:50

Paul is a great name, long overdue a comeback.

Lizziedripping1 · 21/01/2016 23:03

It used to be a very strong tradition here to name the eldest son/daughter after father or mother.

My father was the first eldest son not to be called Joshua in over 100 years. They called him Ronald..this was definitely not an improvement

nellyflora · 23/01/2016 10:12

I always find it strange when first name is after a living parent, grandparent fine. Paul is probably due a come back and is a perfectly acceptable traditional name. Middle names are rarly used and if it's what her father is known as fair enough. Not my choice but nothing is wrong with it really.!

mrsmugoo · 23/01/2016 10:16

My son has the same first name as his dad. Its traditional not narcissistic in any way. My husband is known by the shortened version, my son is known as the full name. No confusion whatsoever. If it doesn't float your boat you're entitled to say that but throwing around words like narcissistic is rude imo.

VulcanWoman · 23/01/2016 10:20

A good solid name, used by someone not up their own arse.

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 23/01/2016 10:29

Paul Tony / Tall Pony Grin

I like Paul, though I am old and grew up with lots of Pauls.

KoalaDownUnder · 23/01/2016 12:52

Poodog - exactly. Paul is dated and wet.

VulcanWoman · 23/01/2016 13:02

Er no.

CrystalMcPistol · 23/01/2016 13:39

It's the most boring name ever.

And naming a kid after a parent, well it's either unimaginative or a tad egotistical.

mrsmugoo · 23/01/2016 13:51

Rude

DontKillMyVibe · 23/01/2016 16:28

Mrs Mug, just because someone doesn't agree with you it doesn't mean they are rude

mrsmugoo · 23/01/2016 20:26

As I have previously said - it's fine to express an opinion I.e naming a child after a father isn't something they like / would do but throwing around words like egotistical and narcissistic is just plain rude as I've explained that nothing like that factored in our choice in the slightest, its traditional.

You don't have to LIKE it, but you DO have to be RESPECTFUL and not project your own theories onto the situation.
