William

Isaac can be shortened to Ike as well as Zac

I have a late teen William - Will, never been bullied with 'Willy' , a non issue.

mrsschu · 18/01/2016 14:45

Isaac. But NOT nn Zac, Isaac is lovely on its own. For me William is very, very bland and ordinary.

William is an excellent name. Lots of famous people from history with the name William and plenty for every one of the common shorter versions. Never been out of the top 100 so won't date. Easy to spell, easy to pronounce and it's been used so long that everybody knows how to do both those things. An absolute classic.

Just because one William hasn't been teased with Willy doesn't mean that others might not... Little schoolboys can be pretty silly!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 18/01/2016 16:06

I love Isaac (and also wouldn't shorten it).

William!!

William, by a mile. I wouldn't worry about bullying over 'Willy' thing. The name has been in the top 10 for a while now. Half the school will be called William. That bully's going to need a pretty large pair to take on all those kids.

William

Yeah, I've been teaching for almost 20 years and must have taught hundreds of Williams in that time. Never taught a willy though, and never seen a child teased because of it. Other names mind....

RingUpRingRingDown · 19/01/2016 08:01

3 Williams in my close family. None have ever been called Willy.
