Oh, I LOVE Esther.

Your whole list is beautiful (except not a huge fan of Gloria or Rowena).

nextusername · 16/01/2016 15:24

I like Christabel, Clarabel, Gloria and Rowena.

allegretto · 16/01/2016 15:58

Brutally honest - love them all except Annora (sounds a bit medical) and Clarabel (cow's name to me) and Gloria (know one I don't like).

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit · 16/01/2016 16:03

Love Esther and Cora, great names.

CrystalMcPistol · 16/01/2016 16:06

I love Gloria.

Don't really like any of the others.

Soooosie · 16/01/2016 16:07

Esther is stunning. Head and shoulders above the others

Helmetbymidnight · 16/01/2016 16:12

Gosh, I haven't heard or thought of an Esther for years.

Can be cute, smart or glamorous. I like it!

DizzyDancer · 16/01/2016 16:15

I like Esther and I like Jemima.

Everything else I'm not keen on

bananastar · 16/01/2016 16:17

I absolutely love esther but I'm biased because that what my 6 week old is calledGrin

CrystalMcPistol · 16/01/2016 16:17

Esther to me just sounds a bit Puritan and stuffy.

ashesandfire · 16/01/2016 17:03

I love Esther and Cora.
Don't like the rest although I think Clara is lovely.

autumnmoon · 16/01/2016 17:35

Esther is by far the nicest of the bunch!

Along similar lines may be:

Clara
Frances
Tessa/Tess
Ellen
Ruth
Martha
Alice

cornwallsharon · 16/01/2016 19:38

We know an Esther and I love it - she gets Ettie for short which I think is cute

nellyflora · 16/01/2016 19:47

I like Esther, lion and ranzon do jump into my head strangely but it's a lovely name has history and is strong.
Annora I have never heard before so looks wrong to me.
Christabel I don't like
Clarabel is a cow ( I quite like cows btw) I actually think it's rather nice
Cora nice hearing it a lot recently probably due to downton
Gloria I don't like this one
Jemima very sweet and girly
Rowena I just don't like

Esther, clarabel , Cora or Jemima from your list

Robertaquimby · 16/01/2016 20:17

Esther is much the best.

mrsschu · 17/01/2016 12:51

Cora is the only one I like. At all. In particular I'd avoid Christabel and Clarabel, they sound silly and girly. I can't imagine a grown woman being called either.

tangerinesarenottheonlyfruit · 17/01/2016 12:55

I know a grown up called Christabel and I've never thought of her name as silly or girly. How odd Hmm

CaptainWarbeck · 17/01/2016 12:57

Could also go with Essie as a nn. Esther is a lovely name.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 17/01/2016 13:02

Esther is a gorgeous name. Pretty but strong.

Suzietwo · 17/01/2016 18:02

I love Gloria.
I have a family member who is ether, under 10. She's known as esti. I didn't like it when she was born and it hasn't grown on me

Soooosie · 17/01/2016 18:23

You could always have Clara Belle using belle as a middle name

Stoneagemum · 17/01/2016 19:37

Esther, common nn, es, est, essie but only when young (from experience, may have to name change now Blush)

Allthatnonsense · 17/01/2016 20:13

Jemima or Esther

fondationmaeght · 17/01/2016 22:27

LOVE Esther
