Marlena - thoughts?

Thinking about the girls' name Marlena (pronouncing it Mar-lay-nah). I like the connection to Marlene Dietrich and soul singer Marlena Shaw. Also potential nicknames -Marlie, Lena.

OH less sure and thinks she'll be mispronounced as Mar-leen-a

With your spelling I think everyone will pronounce it as you want. My best friend is Marlene (pronounce Marleen) and nobody ever shortens it though, not even kids when she was at school, so be prepared for use of whole name rather than nicknames.
