Seth isn't a nickname for Sebastien. Wtf Confused

It was supposed to be a joke as I like them both.

Not keen on Seth, it seems North London is teeming with Seths - far prefer Oliver and Sebastian.

I have a Seth - only met one other and it strikes the right balance between being a name that people know and not being overly popular. It is a marmite name though, I do find that people either really love it or hate it (not that they say they hate it by you can tell from the reaction!). Much more interesting than Oliver imo.

Seth, also known as Set, is the ancient Egyptian god of chaos, who murdered his brother. Is baby a DC1? Wink

Seth. But it's not a diminutive of Sebastian Confused.

Oliver, by a long way.

I find Seth has a very soft, lispy sound & it doesn't appeal to me for that reason.

eternalopt · 02/01/2016 21:59

I'd be put off Oliver as it's the number 1 boys name so there will be loads of them around, but it's popular for a reason - it's a lovely name. But of the two, Seth would get my vote, as I really like that too and it reminds me of a sexy guy I went to uni with

Sebastian is lovely to, and I like the shortened version of Seb

Oliver
Can't get past Seth's meaning- did consider it for one of mine though!
How about Elijah?
