I love them both. DH will hate them both, but he didn't like DD1's name initially, so will work on him 😉

Dinah.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 19/12/2015 19:19

Neither nor. Especially if your dh isn't on board.
I know someone with a Dalia (long first 'a') - how about that instead? Or Delia?

Rpj16 · 19/12/2015 19:20

I love Dinah. Did dh technically get to pick/approve your first babies name? We are having a boy and I've let dh pick a name as he hated all my lovely suggestions! Lol (so I can pick the second child's name if we have another, haha)

Delilah. Dinah is almost identical to Diner.

Sophronia · 19/12/2015 20:54

Dinah. Love it.

Delina is also very pretty, as an alternative

Katarzyna79 · 19/12/2015 21:10

I don't like dina only because I knew a few growing up.

As someone mentioned Daalia is a nice alternative, I was thinking of this one for my new addition husband is against it.

out of the two you mentioned Delilah, but I'm not keen on any.

xmasseason · 19/12/2015 21:26

Delilah, with Della as nickname.

Dinah reminds me of Diner.

maiscout · 19/12/2015 21:28

Delilah. It's my first choice when I have a girl

CherryPits · 19/12/2015 23:56

They both very strongly remind me of the 1970s (when I was little) and songs by Tom Jones (Delilah obviously) and Dinah reminds me of Diana Dors for some reason. I think peroxide hair and buxom TV ladies. But that's just me.

Rpj16 · 19/12/2015 23:58

... Dinah is the cat in Alice in wonderland! Its really nice anyway :)

justjodie92 · 20/12/2015 00:02

Definitely Delilah I would say

quitecrunchy · 20/12/2015 00:07

I love Dinah. Having a scottish accent I never thought about it being close to diner.

mathanxiety · 20/12/2015 07:15

Dinah -- you never hear this name, and it is beautiful (imo).

I say Dina 'dee-na' and Dinah 'dye-na'

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 16:14

I'd say Dina = 'dee-na' and Dinah + "dye-ner"

RiverTam · 20/12/2015 16:15

Dinah pronounced Dye-nah.

ashesandfire · 20/12/2015 18:09

I would pn Dinah as Dee-nah and think it's much nicer than Delilah, I think the pronunciation might cause problems though

balletgirlmum · 20/12/2015 18:14

Neither (though there are a few Delilahs here in Stoke). Dinah reminds me too much of Starlight Express.

AlisonWunderland · 20/12/2015 18:16

Dinah is Dye-na.

I should know...

Yika · 20/12/2015 20:32

I love Dinah (which I would pronounce Diner, but have never made the connection!)

mathanxiety · 21/12/2015 01:06

Dina = Dee-na
Dinah = Dye-na
