We had originally decided on Jessica with thea as a middle name as my oh really likes thea but i thought it sounded a bit random. Now i can't decide which one to go for!

'Thea a bit chav.'

Hmm

Far from it I'd have thought!

Thea is a lovely. Jessica is fine but feels a bit 90's.

Mrspopper · 15/12/2015 16:21

Thea is a bit chav! Noooooo it's really not.

MummyJen4 · 15/12/2015 17:22

My Jessica is 4 and we get so many compliments on how pretty her name is. She suits it and loves her name. You can't go wrong with it and the nickname Jessie is adorable. Good luck x

Def Jessica by a mile.

Thea sounds a bit meh to me and harsh, and like a nik-name, not a full name and makes me think Theo so male too.

Jessica is feminine and pretty while energetic and not overly twee- will never date & Jess/Jessie lovely names.

Domino777 · 16/12/2015 20:41

Jessica is often the naughty girl in the class here

Mordirig · 16/12/2015 21:18

I think you mean Tia, Thea is lovely and I like Jessica as well, but I'd go for Athea since its a little more unusual but similar and Thea could be a nice NN.

wanderingwondering · 16/12/2015 21:21

Thea. Have never liked Jessica

Newyearnewbrain · 16/12/2015 21:22

My Jessie is 2 and it really suits her. Neither names are 'chavvy' but I like the shortened versions of Jessica as much as I like the full name.

EmilySmallwood · 16/12/2015 22:46

Jessica! How is Thea pronounced? The-ah or Te-ah?

NadiaWadia · 17/12/2015 03:24

Jessica is lovely, although you will get people saying it's dated. Very popular in the 80s I think. DD was born 90s, and none of her contemporaries were Jessicas, as far as I know.

Thea is absolutely fine, but seems a bit characterless somehow? Maybe because I don't really have any associations attached to it, also maybe because it's such a short name.

Stephanie01 · 17/12/2015 07:14

See what she looks like when she is born - I like both but Thea is beautiful!

starkers1 · 17/12/2015 10:43

oooo definitely Jessica! Doubt it will ever date its beautiful.
Look at famous Jessica's- Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jessica Chastain, Jessica Ennis- all beautiful but individual, strong, sparky.

Thea sound like a nickname, not keen sorry.

s098 · 17/12/2015 12:50

I think im struggling with Thea because I've never met anyone with that name so its hard to picture using it.
Picking a name is so hard!

Jessica
But I have an irrational hatred of Thea.
