I like it. I wouldn't use it but I like it, if that makes sense. It makes me think of 80s/early 90s US movies. I don't think I've ever met a Cody tbh!

Go for it if you both like it. You'll always get those who sneer at any name that sounds American (why??) but it's a nice enough name.

I really like American names - they're always more unusual here, but don't sound dated... :)

Well I love it OP, but then I'm someone who was American-born, and has an American-sounding name.

I hate the snobbery that surrounds such names on MN, although it tends to be an extension of general snobbery towards anything American on here, which I've seen from time to time.

Here in the US it's pretty trailer-trash. Automatically makes one think of Budweiser beer, camoflage attire, pickup trucks and such.

Oh, Cody was on my list as one of the only two myself and DH agreed on. Might re-think it now as well!

The name reminds me of my childhood,watching the rescuers down under.
