I like

  • Dylan
  • Isaac
  • Charlie
  • Matthew
BessieBlount · 07/12/2015 13:06

Joseph and Charlie are my favourites although I also like Riley. My friend has just had a boy and named him Brodie which I also love.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with any if the other names on your list, they're just not to my taste. They are also very popular also Isaac and Matthew less so these days.

BessieBlount · 07/12/2015 13:07

although not also.

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 13:09

Ah, Brodie is nice

You can't go wrong with any of those names! People who dislike a particular name on your list will do so probably because they know of someone they don't like who has that name, but then others will know someone if the same name who is lovely/funny/kind etc. Riley, Isaac, Noah, Oliver and Charlie are very popular where I live with Charlie and Oliver being 3 or 4 to a class at our local school. I do love the name Edward. Could be Eddie/Ted as a nn.

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 13:19

Yes! I love the NN Teddy/Ted! It's lush

Sophronia · 07/12/2015 13:23

Matthew, Joseph and Edward are my favourites.

BessieBlount · 07/12/2015 13:28

Yes Ted/Teddy is nice but I know 5 under 7. It is very popular here.
The boys here used to be Oliver, Harry or George now they are mainly Edward, Thomas, Samuel or Lucas.

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 13:30

Yeah, it's so popular, but for a name like Teddy, I think it kinda has to be (for people to use it)

Teddy, I love it!

Also love Elliott & Noah.

Not keen on the rest for various reasons.

hobitty · 07/12/2015 13:47

The only name I like from your list is Elliott.

Some of the others are very overused and will sound dated as they fall out of favour.

Artandco · 07/12/2015 13:49

Edward . Strong traditional name, with plenty of nickname options. Ned, Ted, Teddy, Ed, Eddy

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 13:59

I do find Edward slightly awkward to say Sad

LaurieLemons · 07/12/2015 14:17

I like Noah, Isaac, Charlie and Joseph! If you don't like Edward, why not just use Teddy?

IoraRua · 07/12/2015 14:19

Love Aidan, Dylan and Isaac.
Bar Alfie and Riley (bit cutesy) the others are all fine.

Artandco · 07/12/2015 14:21

What about Edmund rather than Edward

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 07/12/2015 14:22

I like Aiden.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 07/12/2015 14:22

And Elliot.

CakeRattleandRoll · 07/12/2015 14:32

I have a 3yo Teddy (Edward) and can thoroughly recommend it! He gets called Bear a lot too, and has a lot of bear-themed clothes, books, puzzles, etc. Although he can also be the number 2 Blue Engine when he wants a change.

Really like Elliott, Matthew and Joseph too. Although not sure what you could use as nn for Elliott.

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 14:42

DP won't just have Teddy! I do like Edward, but something is making me now want to use it Sad

celtictoast · 07/12/2015 14:43

My favourites of your list in no particular order:

Aidan
Joseph
Dylan
Oliver
Edward

hobitty · 07/12/2015 15:58

"Although not sure what you could use as nn for Elliott."

It's a beautiful name that doesn't need shortening imo.

hobitty · 07/12/2015 16:00

In fact, Noah, Aidan, Dylan wouldn't need to be shortened either imo.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/12/2015 16:01

My favourites are Oliver, Matthew, Charlie and Joseph, really love Joe.

I don't like Alfie or Riley.

LouisaRose31 · 07/12/2015 16:08

Yeah, Alfie and Riley are DP's pick really - I love Joe too! I also love the way Joseph looks
