I vote no, sorry!

nancy75 · 03/12/2015 13:52

I don't think you can, although my mum has a friend with children called Tom & Grace and their surname is Jones!

squoosh · 03/12/2015 13:58

No you cannot.

Imagine being called Gary Potter or Saul McCartney.

TheComforter · 03/12/2015 15:35

I know, I know. I just think Joel is so cool.

Boo hiss.

My other fave is Clement.

I agree Louise.

Joel is a cool name. Noel, is what, 50? No one Joel's age will have a scooby who some old niche, second fiddle to his brother, musician with similar name is.

Tiggeryoubastard · 03/12/2015 15:47

I thought you would suggest Frank.

CremeBrulee · 03/12/2015 15:48

I think you can. I didn't get the Noel connection (and I am definitely of the Oasis generation) and was pondering why not. I assumed there must have been a Joel in Frank Gallagher's crowd in Shameless!

squoosh · 03/12/2015 15:48

Noel Gallagher may not mean anything to the kid's friends but you don't go through life just interacting with people who are the same age as you.

Joel Gallagher is a comedy name.

MaisieDotes · 03/12/2015 15:49

tigger I thought that too Grin

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/12/2015 15:50

No I wouldn't.

No, you must use Rory Grin

squoosh · 03/12/2015 16:04

Oasis have that air about them of a band who will be on the cover of Mojo magazine in 2072. I'd be thrilled if I never had to hear another busker wail Wonder-feckin-wall at me but I won't hold my breath!

Civilizations will rise and fall but two things we can rely on will be a cockroaches, and buskers singing Wonderwall.

LilyKing0909 · 03/12/2015 16:06

I would...

PennyHasNoSurname · 03/12/2015 16:09

What about Jude? Or Rex? Just other names similar (imo) to Joel.
