Boys inspiration

I like, but can't use for various reasons:

Stanley
Ned
Frank
Sidney
Eric

And on our v short shortlist is:

Ronnie
Alec

Can you provide any further inspiration? I like uncommon names, but uncommon because they're old fashioned I suppose rather than 'out there'.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh and I don't actually know what sex the baby is, but like either Annie or Stella for a girl.

Boys names leave me totally stuck!

Thank you Sophronia for your input!

I think from those my favourites are

Ernest (Ernie)
Reggie

The others feel a little too aristocratic to me if that makes sense?

Gosh I find boys names so hard!

Donald appeals, but we have a dog (not ours, but whom we see every day) of the same name!

Victor is quite cool.
Kit too, I guess it would be short for Christopher which is good and classic IMO.
I like Ray, but has been vetoed by DH who says it (Raymondo) in a funny Del-Boy type voice Hmm

I don't like Alfie, Blake, Logan, Harrison especially for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.

I have a little Frank! Next one on our list would have been Vincent, vinnie and Vince are both pretty cool, but this one's a girl. Also liked Calvin and hector.

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/12/2015 20:35

Oh yes I like Vinnie!

Do you mind if I ask what your girls names are?

Current front-runner is Sylvie. I also love Cecilia but can't convince dh.

I think we have similar taste - I love Sylvie too Smile

Frank and Sylvie sound lovely together - I like the sort of 1930s vibe

Yay, that's what I thought! Frank is short for Franklin. I think I like names that are unusual but known, but that also have the potential to blend in with popular names a little - so Frankie fits in with all the Freddie/alfie/Archie names, Sylvie fits in with Evie/livvy/Sophie etc. So they won't feel like I've given them a bizarre name, but it still ticks my unusual box. Does that sound mental?
