My favourite from your list is Imogen Smile

Sophronia · 23/11/2015 20:15

My favourite is Lowenna, but I like all of them except for Imogen

ElviraCondomine · 23/11/2015 20:39

Corisande - knew one at university and always thought it was beautiful. I don't think she shortened it though.
Lowenna - love Cornish names (my DD2 has one of the generally frowned upon Cornish names but I love it!)

I like the name Imogen but it's very common amongst the 9-12 year olds I know. They are all known as Immy.

celtictoast · 23/11/2015 20:58

I like Ianthe best, then Corisande.

manicinsomniac · 23/11/2015 22:58

Imogen is my favourite. Lowenna is pretty. Not keen on the others.

TheoriginalLEM · 23/11/2015 23:01

maeve

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 23/11/2015 23:06

Lowenna and Ianthe are dreadful. Xanthe is better, but not much.

Imogen, on the other hand, is lovely.

Paddletonio · 23/11/2015 23:29

Imogen then maeve

The rest not so nice

hawaiibaby · 24/11/2015 21:26

Imogen or Maeve for me too. As someone with an unusual, tricky to pronounce and spell name, I have to say I hated it growing up and still am not keen on it now. I do think as parents we have to bear in mind our child is the one who has to live with it and having a particularly complicated or unusual one might be nice for us but not so nice for them!

AuntGertrude · 24/11/2015 22:47

Corisande is terrific. After that, Imogen is the next nicest.

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 24/11/2015 23:09

How would you pronounce Maeve? "Meeve"? "Mave"? " Mauve"?

BackforGood · 24/11/2015 23:13

Imogen is OK - don't like any of the others. Just personal opinion though - no actual reasons for convincing anyone else Smile

They seem very different from your choice of boy's name ?

Comebackbutler · 24/11/2015 23:22

I liked Maeve when I was pregnant but it didn't sound right with my existing child's name. I would choose it from your list. Maeve and Imogen are the only names on your list I am familiar with.

CakeRattleandRoll · 24/11/2015 23:58

Love Corisande. I've not seen it before, but it is beautiful. I would use nn Cori or Sandy.

I like all of your others, although prefer Morwenna to Lowenna, and prefer Xanthe to Ianthe. The only one that is even vaguely popular is Imogen.

Cel982 · 25/11/2015 00:02

Maeve is pronounced Mayv, MrsLeigh!

Cel982 · 25/11/2015 00:03

(As in 'rhymes with Dave'.)

villainousbroodmare · 25/11/2015 00:04

Definitely Corisande. A simple, elegant and unusual family name. It's lovely.
The only other one I like from your list is Maeve.

emmalouise90 · 03/12/2015 16:44

Love lowenna and Imogen both pretty names x
