Ten days overdue with number 2 and really struggling for a boys name. Husband really keen on Miles, nn Milo, or Ray but are they too try-hard cool? I'm torn between both and a classic name like Ben or William.

Very grateful for opinions!

I'd go for Ray. Not many baby Rays about now. However with it being an old fashioned and quite unusual name be prepared for all the questions. As to how and why you chose it.

Iliveinalighthouse - , he's been named -William !

I love Ray - very cool
Also love Ben - I have a 14 year old one myself. He's just Ben though, not Benjamin.
William - I've never liked this for some reason, no idea why
Miles/Milo - also don't like. To be Milo is more of a name for a dog, I know a few called Milo.

Kim you haven't read the thread either. He's called William!

Love Ben and William much better a classic name than Ray or Miles.

Dislike Miles - sounds like the plural of Mile (like Kilometres) and Milo is a drink (google Milo and its the first thing that comes up).

I really like Ray and think it is cool, strong and not overused.

Ben and William are very widely used and quite dull imo. Also dislike the Will/Willy part of William - could lead to teasing in the primary playground.
