I'm guessing it's quite an old fashioned name as I've looked after a few elderly ladies with this name, but haven't come across any little dulcie's yet. What's everyone's opinion x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
katemess12 · 08/10/2016 10:14

Oh, and it's pronounced dull-see. She gets Dulce for short. Non-English speakers tend to pronounce it dull-key.

chinlo · 08/10/2016 11:40

I hate it. Sounds like DULL.

Or dulcet tones.

dulciemae · 08/10/2016 12:01

Thanks chaps ☺️

I pronounce it Dull-see. Am not sure if I like it or not tbh - reminds me a bit of Dolcis, the shite shoe shop, but I don't hate it.

dulciemae · 08/10/2016 19:00

Is it common practice for a large amount of people on this site to be an opinionated c-u-next-Tuesday?

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 19:03

Well, when someone asks for an opinion DulcieMae it's normally commonplace for posters to provide one. It's also OK to use the word cunt though I can't see anyone acting like one on this thread

BestIsWest · 08/10/2016 19:03

I like it. And yes, DulcieMae, what's wrong with people voicing their opinions? The OP did ask for them after all.

Bythebeach · 08/10/2016 19:05

Love it! Know just the one 4 year old with this name.

SleepyRoo · 08/10/2016 19:06

A bit try-hard.

dulciemae · 08/10/2016 19:50

OP asked a year ago and probably doesn't care anymore. I thought I would revive the page for a laugh but have since noticed there's no such thing on this thread. There's also a difference between having opinions and being opinionated. And there's also such thing as having an opinion and then having the disregard to see that someone has that name and making a blind sighted rude remark about it.
Also, if you hate someone with a certain name- you're obviously going to have a misguided view of it- what's the point in putting someone off for the sake of moaning?

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 19:53

You reignited a year old thread to see what people would think of a name that you have and then are pissed off that not everyone loves your name? Go poor yourself a glass of wine love and find something better to do with your time.

dulciemae · 08/10/2016 20:01

God people are rude. You don't have to have an a shite-shoe-shop name to work that out 😂 Thanks mate, gonna drown my sorrows in a dull-sea of wine and never enter this black hole of a site again 👍🏼👍🏼

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 20:16

Ok, I think the name Dulcie is fucking fantastic and anyone who is called it must be simply amazing. That better? Have a nice night Wink

UnicornPee · 08/10/2016 21:02

I know two Dulcie's and they are both pronounced
DULL-CHEE

PunkrockerGirl · 08/10/2016 21:10

Not keen. Sounds like a sex worker.

katemess12 · 08/10/2016 21:13

Dulcie, most people couldn't give a rats about what other people think of their name.

And I already said that my opinion on the name is probably clouded by the only person I know with the name. If I didn't know her, there's a good chance my opinion would be different. But doesn't that go for every name you have an association with? I don't like Emily for the same reason.

WeArePregnant11 · 08/10/2016 21:24

I personally hate it. However, that's obviously just my opinion, and many others see to love it.

Maybe it's just like an other commenter said, a marmite name...

WeArePregnant11 · 08/10/2016 21:24

*seem

idontlikealdi · 08/10/2016 21:26

I love it. It have always known it as Dull-see.

4yoniD · 08/10/2016 22:03

Dul-see.
If I have a dd3, that is the name already chosen.

chinlo · 08/10/2016 22:18

Hahaha this thread has taken a turn for the hilarious! Thank you, DulcieMay Grin

PotatoBread · 08/10/2016 22:18

I wonder what the OP ended up calling her DD? Grin

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/10/2016 10:12

Prefer Darcie.

Madbengalmum · 09/10/2016 20:34
